Layered Treat Bars


With Halloween around the corner there are chocolate bars everywhere! If you are trying to stay away from glucose syrup, refined sugar, dairy, gluten and nuts your options may feel limited. These treat bars are easy to make, contain natural sweeteners and are allergen friendly ! Perfect for the sweet & salty October cravings we all experience this time of year ! 


Ingredients 


Layer 1: 

-1 cups oats 

-1/4 cup melted plant based butter 

-2 tbsp honey 


Mix all ingredients in bowl and pat down mixture evenly into 9x9 glass baking dish. Refrigerate for 30 minutes while you prepare next layers. 


Layer 2: 

-1/4 cup coconut oil , melt this first and add:

-1/4 cup maple syrup 

-1/4 cup sunflower butter 

Stir ingredients together until smooth. Refrigerate for 15 minutes, stir again and spread over the first layer. 


Layer 3: 

Sprinkle 1/4-1/3 cup unsalted sunflower seeds or nuts of your choice and top with a dash of sea salt


Layer 4: 

-1/2 cup chocolate chips 

-2 Tbsp coconut oil 

Melt these 2 ingredients together and stir until smooth. Pour over the top of the other layers, spreading it evenly so it covers the entire top layer of the bars. Refrigerate for 30 minutes. Cut bars into 20 pieces. Store in refrigerator for 2-4 days.
